iSites Android App - New ways to reach generation wireless
We are proud to announce the new version of the Android App (ver 2.2) release. We have added significant number of new features beyond the existing features. We hope you would love them as much as we do.
1. Improved design and user interface
- Look and feel of the buttons and pop ups that blend with the Android native look and feel.
- Improved item listing format and article rendering.
- Native image browser.
- Landscape mode with full screen readability. When under the landscape mode touching the header and footer will disappear improving the readability. In case you choose to have ads, landscape mode does not show it again to enhance readability.
2. Custom search for the app content
We index the content continuously to we provide the users with a real time search of your content. Please note that we index only the content from feeds only.
3. Shouts
We received feedback from partners to help them build a cohesive community around all their social media. We came up with "Shouts". Shouts includes three sub sections:
1. Shout Out - any app user can comment and give you a shout. Vans Hub (the Vans Shoes Company) took advantage of this feature and is using it effectively to engage with their community. Here's a screen shot of the same.
2. Tweets - we present your official tweets in real time. This list could include tweets from multiple twitter accounts.
3. Buzz - we search for all tweets that is related to your the keywords your provide or your app title.
4. Article commenting
In order to improve the community participation with the app we added a way for users to comment on all articles. A comment made on an article on Matador Travel network app is shown here.
5. Accounts through Facebook Connect
You community can now participate in shout outs, commenting, favoriting artciles etc.. by creating an account using Facebook Connect.
6. I read it here!
Now you can see who read which articles where in realtime. We provide the location and content details on a map.
7. Feedback form
We have provided a mechanism for the app users to send direct emails with feedback and queries to the app owners.
8. Exit functionality for back button only
There are several more small issues that we have fixed and number of additional feature improvements.We rolled it out to all our existing partners for no extra cost!!
